- Sold By: Fort Bragg CarnivoresYellow Jackets are a chartreuse dream! These tall tubes with upright lids are prolific growers. One big advantage of this Yellow Jacket is that it does well in part shade. In fact I have most of mine growing in part shade, where they seem to grow taller fatter pitchers. Flowering size Yellow Jacket currently growing in a 4 inch pot. Plants for sale are older and will have multiple growth points. Please note: plants are entering dormancy, some plants will be shipped with no leaves.

It sends up the largest ones in Spring, then long leaves that look like undeveloped pitchers during winter. The flowers are also huge and are known to smell like cat-pee. There are many different varieties of S. Flava, but these will be the all yellow form with possibly a slight bit of red on the back of the throat or a little bit of red veining on the top of the lid. Fully mature Flava currently growing in a 4 inch pot Note: Most flava pitchers are really old and some start falling over by Late July/August.
