Tropical Pitcher Plant (Nepenthes)

For sale are rooted cuttings of the tropical pitcher plant Nepenthes clipeata.  This plant originated in Germany (not Wistuba) and it was debated whether or not it was the "real deal".  I had a grower from the Georgia Botanical Gardens examine the plants and he verified it is.  These cuttings were struck in December 2020 and have well-established roots.  It's a male. You will receive 1 cutting that will be shipped to you bare-root by Priority Mail.   Shipping for Nepenthes is $15 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.  We ship Mondays and Tuesdays.

You will be purchasing a rooted cutting of Nepenthes copelandii.  This is a very easy plant that is good for beginners.  The brighter the light the larger the pitchers, and they tend to retain pitchers for a long time.  The cuttings were struck in December.  Plants are rooted in a mist bed so the root systems aren't huge since the humidity stays high all the time, but the cuttings are very vigorous. Standard shipping regardless of the number of plants is $12 for USPS Priority Mail, usually mailed out on Monday or Tuesday.  Your plant will be send bare root.

You will be purchasing a rooted cutting of Nepenthes maxima x truncata.  This is a fairly easy and vigorous plant that is good for beginners.  This hybrid gets very large so I recommend a hanging basket or terrace flower pot.  The cuttings were struck in December 2022.  As you can see from the photo (which is not this plant), the cuttings tend to be quite large - beats a seedling! Standard shipping regardless of the number of plants is $15 for USPS Priority Mail, usually  - mailed out on Monday or Tuesday.  Your plant will be send bare root.  We ship Mondays and Tuesdays.

Nepenthes briggsiana is a gorgeous hybrid combining the ease of N. ventricosa with the large, toilet-shaped pitchers of N. lowii. Easy to grow indoors on a windowsill in room temperature and humidity. Pitchers are crimson red with striping along the peristome. Up for sale is an approximately 3” wide young Nepenthes briggsiana (lowii x ventricosa red). This is a RARE and highly sought after hybrid in the US. Don’t miss out on this chance!

A seed-grown clone of a striking Sumatran species, feature photo representing a partially colored pitcher from the parent plant (the peristome can get almost jet black, the body nearly to match). This species is a strict highlander, liking bright light and cool, humid conditions overall, and stability to grow and pitcher at its best. Adult plants can produce pitchers nearly a foot long, with slender traps whose elongated mouths sport a toothy peristome not dissimilar to singalana. Available rooted cuttings range in size currently from 1-2" in diameter, just beginning to sport pitchers of their own. Plants are shipped bare-root wrapped in a moist paper towel, via USPS Priority mail; I typically ship Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend hold-overs. US shipping only. Many plants are grown in high humidity conditions and may require acclimation, unless otherwise noted. If you are expecting weather that may be detrimental to the plants if shipped, please message me upon making your order! Shipping cost includes heat pack for winter conditions. If there are issues with the plants upon arrival, please contact me within 48 hours of receipt.

A seed-grown cross just starting to reach safe shipping size, and with a lot of potential in the dark and tubby arena. Adult plants are of course unknown so far (and don't expect them to look like "Rebecca Soper," which is a ramispina and not gracillima cross), but plants already show potential to have rich red or maroon-tinted green leaves and tubby, moderately to heavily patterned deep red to purple pitchers. If truly a gracillima hybrid uppers will likely be fairly slender and heavily patterned; if the male parent turns out to be alba, uppers may be very pale reddish in color. Plants are currently around 1" in diameter, each seed-grown and unique.

One of the four "keeper clones" of this grex (x splendiana x ventricosa "red") that I have maintained personally; this is a very easy-growing, tolerant hybrid that vines fairly rapidly but doesn't get overall huge. Lower pitchers can be up to at least 5" tall, extremely squat and almost reminiscent of a sibuyanensis hybrid but with a mildly hourglass profile; coloration is pale green and cream with light crimson or pink mottling, the peristome blushed in pink to red. Upper pitchers have similar but paler patterning and are smaller, slightly funnel-shaped and lack wings. Rooted cuttings are typically between 4-8" in diameter. This is a known male plant, a slow but steady grower tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions. It produces relatively stout, oblong leaves, that can flush red with strong light, and a vine that can reach several feet in length. Lower pitchers are squat and cylindrical, sporting heavy red mottling on a brownish-tan background and a strongly slanted mouth ringed by a thick, often permanently flared crimson to deep cherry peristome. Upper pitchers have a similar color, but are more cornucopia-shaped (and with the slanted mouth almost reminiscent of an aristolochioides hybrid at times) and often sport an even broader, permanently flared peristome. Cuttings average between 4-8" in diameter, in terms of new growth only. This hybrid produces spectacular pitchers in both lower and upper form; fast-growing vines can quickly reach several feet in length (particularly in intermediate to warm highland conditions) with foot-long leaves. Lower pitchers can reach up to 5" tall, squat and mildly hourglass shaped with a broad, sharply scalloped peristome, while uppers can reach nearly 8" with a more slender cylindric shape and narrower peristome. Both are colored in extremely busy cream/light to deep red and crimson mottled patterns, with blushed to solid deep scarlet peristomes. Rooted cuttings average 4-8" across. Shipping cost includes heat  or cold pack/insulation for as needed for adverse weather conditions. If there are issues with the plants upon arrival, please contact me within 48 hours of receipt.
