Looking for an orchid to try as a first-time grower? Or for something at least a little different from the common garden center moth orchids? This is a great option to try, and even one that, unlike most orchids, can be sprouted from seeds without special conditions. All you need is some moist, airy soil of some sort (sphagnum and orchid bark works well) and time. Plants tend to produce one or two long, lance-shaped leaves that hug the soil, dying back to the tubers for a cool, dry winter period, and in summer send up stalks up to 2 feet or more tall that sport from one to over a dozen delicate white and lavender flowers that easily self-pollinate. Packets contain likely 150-200+ fine, dust-like seeds. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class). US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets.
