For sale are rooted cuttings of the hybrid tropical pitcher plant Nepenthes x Edinensis.  This plant is a Victorian hybrid, making it over 200 years old.  The plant from which these cuttings were taken is part of the Longwood Gardens collection.  These cuttings were struck in December 2020 and have well-established roots.  Nice winged pitchers on long tendrils. You will receive 1 cutting that will be shipped to you bare-root by Priority Mail.   Shipping for Nepenthes is $12 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.

You will be purchasing a rooted cutting of Nepenthes copelandii.  This is a very easy plant that is good for beginners.  The brighter the light the larger the pitchers, and they tend to retain pitchers for a long time.  The cuttings were struck in December.  Plants are rooted in a mist bed so the root systems aren't huge since the humidity stays high all the time, but the cuttings are very vigorous. Standard shipping regardless of the number of plants is $12 for USPS Priority Mail, usually mailed out on Monday or Tuesday.  Your plant will be send bare root.

You will be purchasing a rooted cutting of Nepenthes maxima x truncata.  This is a fairly easy and vigorous plant that is good for beginners.  This hybrid gets very large so I recommend a hanging basket or terrace flower pot.  The cuttings were struck in December.  As you can see from the photo, the plants are quite large - beats a seedling! Standard shipping regardless of the number of plants is $12 for USPS Priority Mail, usually  - mailed out on Monday or Tuesday.  Your plant will be send bare root.

It's tiny, it's weedy, it's cute; the only real trouble with this species is remembering to feed it regularly so it makes lots of seeds! This annual butterwort is native to western Europe and the Mediterranean region, and often doesn't even exceed an inch in diameter when full-grown with short ovular leaves that often sport impressive red veins. The self-pollinating flowers are tiny and tube-shaped, with white petals and a purple tube and spur. To germinate, just sow on wet soil and wait. Packets contain approx. 30+ seeds. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class). US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets. If a package is lost in transit, please contact as soon as possible.

A small but fast-growing butterwort found through much of the southeastern US and the Caribbean, this version from Texas grows to often not much more than an inch in diameter, and produces flowers almost the same size that start out nearly white and age to lavender over time. No special treatment needed for the seeds, but the seedlings and plants do need regular feeding to grow and produce seeds (it's a short-lived annual and needs reseeding regularly). The Blue butterwort is a small, fairly easy-growing temperate butterwort from the southeastern US, with rosettes of folded leaves up to 6" across (though often much smaller) and incredibly variable flowers that come in shades of purple-veined white to solid indigo. This version originated from seed germinated by me and tends to produce chunky blooms that are bright white to light lavender and heavily veined in deep blue-purple.

Only one packet left of this rare locality; the Primrose butterwort is a fairly easy to grow swamp-loving temperate from the same region as many American pitcher plants are found, and this form is a pure white-flowered version from the famed Blackwater River area in northern Florida. The seeds have a small chance of being outcrossed with a standard purple-flowered form, but are more likely to have been the result of a selfing and so should produce many white-flowered babies. Packet contains approx. 20-30 seeds. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class). US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets. This cultivar is a cross of D. sp. Lantau Island x capensis 'Albino'. Like the other Lantau x cape crosses it has the potential to reach nearly 4" in diameter with semi-erect, fountain-like rosettes of baseball bat-shaped leaves. Unlike the other versions of the cross though, this variety seems to prefer staying more squat and compact at around 2" across, and develops colors that range from red-tinted green to nearly solid scarlet with the faintest green tone in the center of the leaves. Flowers are borne on tall stalks and quite large, sterile, and bright pink. Available plants are mature at approximately 1.5-2" in diameter. Plants are shipped bare-root wrapped in a moist paper towel, via USPS Priority mail; I typically ship Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend hold-overs. US shipping only. Many plants are grown in high humidity conditions and may require acclimation, unless otherwise noted. If you are expecting weather that may be detrimental to the plants if shipped, please message me upon making your order! Shipping cost includes heat pack or cold pack/insulation as needed for detrimental weather conditions.

If you want easy to grow, this is one of the best fits. A cross between two already supremely easy species, this semi-fertile hybrid develops rosettes that can reach nearly 3" in diameter (though averages 1.5-2"), with flat tapering leaves sporting slightly wider lamina and, under good lighting, solid crimson colors. Flower stalks are of moderate length and can sport numerous small, bright pink blooms. Best grown with the expectations of being a colony plant as roots and old leaves will bud and plants will divide over time. Available plants are mature, around 1.5" in diameter. An exciting homemade hybrid that really combines the best of both parents. This plant can reach up to 2 inches high/ nearly 4 inches in diameter (though may average around 2.5" across), producing semi-erect, very narrow leaves with spiny-looking hairs covering the petioles and slender paddle-shaped lamina. Color can often be green with red lamina or can flush crimson throughout in strong light. Flower stalks are very thin, wiry, and sport surprisingly large, very pale pink (almost white) blooms. As a sterile hybrid it will only spread via divisions or natural budding/division, and is great as a singular display plant in a pot.

Available plants are semi-mature to mature, between 1.5-2.5" in diameter.

One of several versions of this favored Carlton Carnivores hybrid (and the original attempt), these plants can get large, more than 4 inches in diameter (though average around 2.5-3") with rosettes of semi-erect spoon or club-shaped leaves that are often green in the lengthy petiole but nearly always crimson in the lamina or at least with scarlet tentacles, occasionally red throughout in strong light. The flower stalks can be huge, nearly 2 feet in length, and bear dozens of large, light pink sterile blooms. This is a fantastic singular display plant, though old leaves and roots occasionally bud plantlets so colonies form over time. Very tolerant of a wide range of conditions. Available plants are semi-mature to mature, 2-3" in diameter. A relative of the more familiar U. dichotoma, this bladderwort is an Australian endemic that produces sparse mats of thin leaves and stalks that bear small but beautiful multi-hued violet and yellow/white flowers. Germination of many Utricularia seeds is not always a simple affair, but may be good for a challenge determining seasonal, chemical, or other cues to trigger sprouting, and this species is likely to be similar. Packets contain approx. 40-60+ seeds.

A South American endemic and a great beginner plant, this somewhat shade-loving species develops moderately to large-sized rounded leaves that are often marked in prominent purple veins, and thick flower stalks that bear self-pollinating purplish flowers marked in the center with darker hues and a yellow spot. Seeds of this species are capable of being stored cold for years and germinate readily on moist soil. Packets contain approx. 30-50+ seeds. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class). US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets. A homemade cross between two large, flamboyant, and very red plants with a lot of S. oreophila influence and so likely to be quite hardy and easy to grow. The female parent produces vermillion pitchers with a large spout-mouth and ruffled lid, pollen parent has red tubes and a white and green lid with red veins running through. Offspring could be similarly red, or develop greater contrast thanks to the leucophylla influence in both parents as well. Packets contain approx. 20+ seeds. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail (First Class). US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets.
