Formerly known under the name Lilium tigrinum, the Tiger Lily is an eastern Asian plant that develops one to several deep purple stems between 1-5 feet tall, bearing slender leaves averaging 6-10 inches long all along the length of the stem. At the top, one to several nodding flowers are produced, up to 8 inches or more across with backward-curling tepals colored in brilliant shades of peach to orange with darker brown or black spotting. After blooming, seedpods may form, and/or the plants are capable of developing bulblets within the axils of their leaves, which can be detached to grow new plants.

Currently available are young offset bulbs averaging 0.5-0.75" in diameter, two for quoted price.

Plants are shipped bare-root wrapped in a moist paper towel, via USPS Priority mail; I typically ship Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend hold-overs. US shipping only. Many plants are grown in high humidity conditions and may require acclimation, unless otherwise noted. If you are expecting weather that may be detrimental to the plants if shipped, please message me upon making your order! This is a highly cold-tolerant bulb, capable of surviving deep freezes and should be unbothered by most inclement weather.

The much sought-after giant of the butterwort genus, this species has thick, almost succulent ovular leaves that sport glands on both sides, and grow out in semi-erect to broad spreading rosettes that average between 6-10 inches in diameter, but have been known to grow to nearly 2 feet across! In winter, the rosettes shrink a bit, but develop reddish streaking in this clone and send up one to several individual stalks that bear each a single delicately lavender-white flower edged in darker purple and covered in hairs. This species occasionally reproduces via a false-stolon, plantlets growing in an etiolated, elongate manner to reach out past the parent rosette before establishing.

Available plants are typically between 2-3" in diameter, may be smaller in winter.

While the reverse cross is quite common, this iteration seems to be rather rare. This set of seed-grown plants is expected to reach an average size of around 4 inches in diameter, with roughly ovular leaves bearing rolled edges and readily blushing red in good light, darker along the margins and center. Flowers are hard to predict, but likely to turn out with somewhat fringed petals and bright fuchsia to purple with darker veins.

Available plants are seed-grown, and may range from 0.5-1.5" in diameter currently.

A promising complex cross with two homemade generations in it, these are expected to be spectacular. The seed parent is a select seed-grown clone of a cross I made that sports midly veined, brilliantly purple blooms, the pollen parent California Carnivores' famous red laueana  clone. These plants are expected to reach around 5 inches in diameter and will readily flush red in good light, and sport flowers that are brilliant purple-pink with possible mild veins.

Available plants are seed-grown and may range from 0.5-1.5" in diameter currently.

A seed-grown cross with a great deal of potential; plants are hovering around an inch in diameter on average right now, but once mature may well push over 6" across with thick, ovular red-flushed leaves. I expect flowers to be varying shades of rich purple, and moderately sized between the tiny blooms of gigantea (ironic) and the huge flowers of the laueana parent.
