Carnivorous Plants for Sale

An odd little plant that might just be another variant of omissa x pulchella looking at the more slender leaves. However, whatever the identity the brilliantly colored flowers are amazing, with very light pink to whitish petals marked with rich red at their bases, forming a bulls-eye type look. Packets contain 15+ gemmae each. Drosera gemmae are shipped wrapped in moist paper towels and plastic packs to avoid drying out, shipped via USPS First Class mail. US shipping only. If you are expecting detrimental weather that may impact survival of the gemmae, please contact me immediately when ordering; if otherwise damaged upon arrival or package is lost in transit, please notify immediately to arrange replacements where possible.

With small rosettes of green ringed in bright pinkish-red traps, the plants alone of this cross are quite stunning especially in mass colonies. But, the real show is when they bloom typically in late spring, sporting very large (relative to the size of the plant at least), brilliantly salmon-pink blooms with dark centers.

Packets contain approx. 10+ gemmae each

One of the quintessential beginner carnivorous plants, and one of the better ones to try if it's your first time with seeds. This species can grow to over a foot across (though usually 4-6 inches) with semi-erect, strap shaped leaves colored bright yellow-green with red tentacles. The leaves will actively move when stimulated by prey, wrapping around whatever is fed to or caught by them. Typically prolific in blooming, when happy they will send up hairy, foot long stalks with numerous very large, self-pollinating pink flowers. Packets contain 30-50+ seeds each. This species requires no special treatment for germination, and grows in a variety of conditions but will do best in sandy soils in cool, strong light environments. Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail. US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets. If a package is lost in transit, please contact as soon as possible.

You will be purchasing a rooted cutting of Nepenthes sp. #1 (Cantley).  These plants are from cuttings that were struck at the end of December 2021, so they are about 16 months old.  Please, DO NOT buy these if you are expecting a large established plant and if you have little experience with young, rooted cuttings.  I will only ship cuttings that have terminal growth or a lateral bud has begun growth.  The pictures are of this particular species and are representative of the root system and stem. You will receive 1 plant that will be shipped to you bare-root by Priority Mail.   Shipping for Nepenthes is $15 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.  We ship Mondays and Tuesdays.

A wonderful hybrid originally from California Carnivores, “John Rizzi” is a butterwort collection staple that isn’t in circulation much these days. It’s an easy grower that gets quite large, producing gorgeous, bronzy, undulating leaves with sparse, dark venation that are some of the most effective at catching fungus gnats and other small pests that we’ve seen. “John Rizzi” doesn’t flower often for us but the large, round-petaled, pink flowers are worth the wait. The parentage is unknown but this plant was famously crossed by a hummingbird at California Carnivores. Named by Peter D’Amato after, I believe, an employee who was working at California Carnivores at the time. The plant you will receive will be 1"-1.5" in diameter. We would consider this a beginner level plant.

This is an excellent hybrid of the two perennial species of Byblis.  The mature plant is 1 year old.  You will be purchasing a tissue culture plant in sterile media.  Please note that the cultures are of this hybrid but you will only get one "tube", not a set of 5.  Wash the media off the plant and pot it up.  I suggest 3:2:1 perlite: sand:peat.  Keep the humidity high while the plant acclimates and keep shaded until it acclimates.  You can divide these prior to potting if you wish to make additional cuttings. Shipping is $12 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.
