The much sought-after giant of the butterwort genus, this species has thick, almost succulent ovular leaves that sport glands on both sides, and grow out in semi-erect to broad spreading rosettes that average between 6-10 inches in diameter, but have been known to grow to nearly 2 feet across! In winter, the rosettes shrink a bit, but develop reddish streaking in this clone and send up one to several individual stalks that bear each a single delicately lavender-white flower edged in darker purple and covered in hairs. This species occasionally reproduces via a false-stolon, plantlets growing in an etiolated, elongate manner to reach out past the parent rosette before establishing.
Available plants are typically between 2-3" in diameter, may be smaller in winter.Plants are shipped bare-root wrapped in a moist paper towel, via USPS Priority mail; I typically ship Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend hold-overs.
