The pod parent is a seed-grown clone of 'Hurricane Creek White' that often opens with a red tint to the exterior before aging to pure green and white with a snow-white mouth, and the pollen parent is the most sought-after solid-red atropurpurea out there, pure crimson with a bright yellow interior that ages to solid red. This is a cross between a cultivar of my own making and a famous giant; 'Red Beret' grows like a red-lidded alata on steroids and maintains a crisp, almost military-precise cut of color under the lid and sharp veins while almost patternless on the exterior, and "Lunch Box" is a 'Leah Wilkerson' mimic with richer color. Offspring should be large, marked with stark red coloration under the lid and in the throat, and lightly white-spotted in the upper pitcher and lid.
