carnivorous plant

  • Sold By: Carnivore Culture
Pinguicula gypsicola is a tropical species that has unusual carnivorous leaves for a Butterwort in that they are linear.  P. gypsicola produces carnivorous summer leaves and non-carnivorous winter leaves.  During winter it requires much less water and care should be taken not to over water them.  During winter it should be treated like a succulent with infrequent watering.

You will be purchasing a rooted cutting of Nepenthes insignis (Biak). These plants are from cuttings that were struck at the end of June and the beginning of July, so they are about 10 months old.  Please, DO NOT buy these if you are expecting a large established plant and if you have little experience with young, rooted cuttings.  I will only ship cuttings that have terminal growth or a lateral bud has begun growth.  The pictures are of this particular species and are representative of the root system and stem. You will receive 1 plant that will be shipped to you bare-root by Priority Mail.   Shipping for Nepenthes is $12 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.

For sale are rooted cuttings of the tropical pitcher plant Nepenthes clipeata.  This plant originated in Germany (not Wistuba) and it was debated whether or not it was the "real deal".  I had a grower from the Georgia Botanical Gardens examine the plants and he verified it is.  These cuttings were struck in December 2020 and have well-established roots.  It's a male. You will receive 1 cutting that will be shipped to you bare-root by Priority Mail.   Shipping for Nepenthes is $15 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.  We ship Mondays and Tuesdays.

This is an excellent hybrid of the two perennial species of Byblis.  The mature plant is 1 year old.  You will be purchasing a tissue culture plant in sterile media.  Please note that the cultures are of this hybrid but you will only get one "tube", not a set of 5.  Wash the media off the plant and pot it up.  I suggest 3:2:1 perlite: sand:peat.  Keep the humidity high while the plant acclimates and keep shaded until it acclimates.  You can divide these prior to potting if you wish to make additional cuttings. Shipping is $12 for Priority Mail delivery regardless of the quantity of plants ordered from my shop.

You will be purchasing the perennial species Byblis gigantea (pink flower form).  This form is now extinct in the wild.  The mature plant illustrated is 1 year old and actually a hybrid, it is just meant to be a guide for what this plant will resemble once mature.  You will be purchasing a tissue culture plant in sterile media.  Please note that the cultures pictured are of this species but you will only get one "tube", not a set of 5.  Wash the media off the plant and pot it up.  It may not have roots.

A new, in-house Brambles Botanicals hybrid, Pinguicula “Doily” is cyclosecta x ‘Faulisi’ #8 (of 11.) Aptly named because it produces pink, round, ruffled flowers that reminded us of the decorative coasters we would see around our grandparents’ homes; additional flower features are purple-veins and white markings close to the throat. This is an adorable cultivar that is still new to market very rare in collections. The plant you will receive will be between 1"-1.5" in diameter. We would consider this an intermediate level plant.

This cross of Rubra Jones Alba x Psittacina Alba is a real winner. This plant shows signs of both parents; more erect leaves, and a lid that matches Rubra, from Psittacina the plant grows lower to the ground, and has curvature of the leaves near the mouth. Alba plants lack red pigments normally found in carnivorous plants. Plant is currently in a 6 inch pot and tallest pitcher is 6 inches. Plant has multiple growth points The plant in the picture is the exact plant for sale. Not a division, but the entire plant.
