This locality from Florida is known for producing a couple of distinctive forms of D. capillaris. This form is the flat rosetted version, growing to around 2 inches across on average with paddle shaped leaves bearing thin glabrous petioles and, when fully mature, very broad, triangular to near-rounded lamina (similar to D. burkeana). Coloration is attractive, petioles usually staying green but can blush red, and the lamina typically a bright crimson to nearly poppy red. Short, wiry stalks are produced most often in summer that bear several small, delicate light pink self-pollinating flowers. This species is great as a singular display plant, or developing carpeting colonies.
Packets contain 30+ seeds each. This species requires no special treatment for germination, and tolerates a wide range of conditions but will do best in very warm, wet, strong light environments.
Seeds are shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage in transit, via USPS mail. US shipping only. As seeds can take time and sometimes special treatments in order to germinate properly, returns cannot be accepted and refunds are not available upon receipt of the seed packets. If a package is lost in transit, please contact as soon as possible.
