Sarracenia psittacina, also known as the Parrot Pitcher Plant is a very unique species of Sarracenia.  The pitchers extend outward and the mouth and lid have a “hood”-like appearance.  In its’ natural habitat the plants are  seasonally submerged under water and it may be the only Sarracenia species to capture aquatic prey.  In addition, the examples offered are absolutely stunning examples of Sarracenia psittacina, which were grown from seed from plants native to the Okefenokee Swamp.  Some are deep purple-red with lots of white fenestrations (light windows) on their large, globose hoods, while others are a brilliant yellowish green with deep scarlet hoods and somewhat less fenestrations, and of course every imaginable form in between.  Your plant will be shipped bare root (unpotted), wrapped in moss.  You can purchase a pot and soil to be shipped with your plant here.
