A typical Sarracenia purpurea subsp. purpurea (Northern Purple Pitcher Plant) with green, veined traps in the spring and summer, dark or light maroon traps in the fall. Leaves persist for multiple years and plant divides readily. This is the northern variety of pitcher plant and will survive outdoors with no winter protection!!! (I live in climate zone 7A)
