Sarracenia purpurea var. montana “Greenville, SC”

Sarracenia purpurea ssp. venosa var. montana “Greenville, SC” is a variety of Southern Purple Pitcher Plant native to the Appalachian mountains of the Carolinas. The population from Greenville, South Carolina has slight shape differences in pitchers than other mountain or southern purple pitcher plants. The leaf lid “hunches forward” a bit, at least that’s what I see. I have a few different clones, photos are representative of the typical look of this variety, but your exact clone may vary a bit.

Size options:

Small- Juvenile, may or may not have adult pitchers

Medium- Adult pitchers, may or may not be of flowering size

Large- Adult pitchers, of flowering size and may have 1 or more growth points.
